Program note
The piece, The Chaser(s), was written for one piano and four hands.
One physical body embodies two spirits,
which may be antagonists or cooperators of each other
They keep on chasing each other and try to look for the other appearances of their own
Searching, denying, searching, anticipating…
Looking at the reflection of the piano,
they seems to have a clue They get closer and closer to the truth and their own identities
“Do it!”
“NO!”
“What are you waiting for?”
“What is your answer?”
“ONE!”
They fight to dominate the body and prove themself worthy of existance
“Could I exist by elliminating the other spirit?”
Voices echoing in the body as it creates the spirits
All the actions and thoughts of one spirit are fueled by the other spirit by the law of nature
However,
They could not see each other because they are “one” and “all”
Two spirits entwined together form their appearance
Perhaps,
They look at the reflection of the piano
And…
They can only see themselves
To the true beauties To the Two-Spirit
